The history of the Inn goes back over 400-years, planned restorative works were done on the building in 1987, to ensure that a real sense of atmosphere of bygone days was retained. The Inn now has well-equipped, modern and comfortable rooms for the guests pleasure and convenience, attractive sitting rooms and two restaurants with a wide and varied selection of appetizing dishes. Neighbouring the GL. Rye Kro are the old monastery ruins, which the tower of St. Sorens at Rye-a-campanile rises, standing separate from the body of the church at its east end and holy springs once a destination for pilgrims. |
